    Default Grouting Advice

    Im having trouble with excess grout on our floor tiles. Thay are quite pourous and difficult to cleanup. Any tips would be great as i still have more to do. Thanks

    hi simmer what tile are you grouting (porc stone ect)

    Hi Jay
    I dont think they are porcilin and they are very hard to cut.

    hi simmer porc is one of the hardest to cut check the box or supplier do the tiles obsorb water (go darker when wet) and what grout are you using
    it may be transit wax causing you probs

    Thanks Jay, The tiles definately go darker when wet. No info on box. I am using slate and quarry grout.

    hi simmer sounds like they need sealing first before grouting you need to know what they are also try running a wet sponge over tiles first before grouting to try and reduce suction (an impregnator sealer doesnt change the apearance of tiles )hope this helps
