HELP!! Is this possible?

Hi guys, I work for a charity and we want to create a community art project in our courtyard. What we have in mind is to purchase tiles and have each of our staff, clients, volunteers etc decorate their own tile, then create a whole wall of these decorated tiles. We want to have about 3 or 4 different coloured tiles for people to choose from (size of tiles about 100mmx100mm). So how would I go about doing this? What kind of tiles should I purchase? Do you think it would be better to buy coloured tiles or buy generic tiles and paint them? Is this even a realistic project? We have an art class instructor who will run the project and will be employing a tiler to actually creat the wall once the tiles are made.

Any help/advice would be very much appreciated. I have talked to several tiling companies but they only want to sell me their tiles!
