Removing old tile adhesive? Hi all
I an area in the kitchen I am working on with tiles over tiles so I have removed the top tiles to reveal the old tiles with adhesive. Now as the first layer of tiles line up exactly with the rest of the room wall.
I am reluctant to remove thee tiles because there are electrical wiring somewhere in the mortar between the tiles and the brickwork.
So in short I thought to remove the adhesive and score the tiles with a grinder in that way there would be more grip.
My problem is how or with what to remove the existing adhesive?
Thank you for your suggestion

Re: Removing old tile adhesive? This isn't really an easy one, taylor. Removing one layer of tiles from another could cause a loss of adhesion of the bottom layer. To remove the adhesive layer you could easily affect the adhesion of the bottom layer even more. I know you don't want to remove the first layer, but I'd say it would be the best way to proceed here.

Re: Removing old tile adhesive? Succeeded at last!
Sprayed some fine mist and got the multitool working scraping all off sure I kept of spraying to prevent dust and softening the rubbery glue.
