The sparky just made a bundle of cables not a proper box and he wants me to cut a hole out. Personally I do not see how unless he boxes those cables in.
sometimes sparkies will have installed the metal bracket/clip to the frame behind the gyprock already and couldnt be bothered to cut it out. You'll just have to use a gyprock knife and cut it out yourself. If theres no clip then yeah cut out 45mm by 95mm rectangle in your tile and the sparkie can install a "c" clip afterwards.
Other than the green light from an adhesive supplier, the only other option is to use a concrete planer/scarifier. These can be hired from specialty hire stores or get a pro in. Forget concrete...
