cleaning polished porcelain with scouring pad Hi
just wondering i have been grouting polished porcelain for 9 years always the same way with a wash boy but recently have been told it should be cleaned with a scouring pad to reduce digging out to much grout from the joints, could anyone tell me if they use the scouring pad technique and how to do it?
thanks

Re: cleaning polished porcelain with scouring pad I've used a sponge for years on my polished porcelain floors but i saw some scourers at my suppliers designed for porcelain and thought i would give them a go.
I couldnt get as good a finish with them as a sponge ( hydro sponge, only just damp) as you have to let the grout (i use non/light sanded small joint grout on porcelain) almost dry, then when you scoured orbitally, the grout would slightly pull out in places. I tried a few variations including dampening but couldnt find anything that left the perfect grout joint.

Re: cleaning polished porcelain with scouring pad Hi Guys,
I user a 3 sponge scourer system. Similar to a washboy sponge with varying grit pads to work with. I find them very handy especially for natural stone. Have found some of these 'Nano' porcelain tiles to be very hard to clean but a little dry white grout rubbed over the tile will help strip all wax back as well.

Re: cleaning polished porcelain with scouring pad I'm telling you all....... brushed nylon rags are the way to grout. Sponges are to slow with the endless washing out & wringing.I only use a sponge for rough stone & non slip tiles. Not a fan of the washboy.... Get your granny's old nightie & give one a go, you'll love it guaranteed. Make sure you use the "fluffy" brushed side.
