I've been having the same problem Frank, must be the slowing down of the house & land package industry on the outskirts of town. Luckily for me the builders I have been able to build up a relationship with over the past ten years don't shop around for the cheapest quotes as they know I'll do the right thing by them. Not having any luck with the general public though.... even recommendations aren't cutting it there.

I don't really work in the House and land package area or with the general public, I generally do unit developments and there's some guys putting in stupid prices. I mean, why under quote by $30/m2 on polished porcelain for 20 Units? He probably would have won it by being $3 - $5 cheaper.

Mate I hear what you're saying about relationships. I spent 2.5 years off the tools and worked in the adhesive industry. I only restarted my tiling business again July 2009. If I didn't have the relationships I had built up over the years I would have found it a lot tougher.
