These Irwins are the most comfortable I've found Jay. I've gone through 2 pairs in 3 years, which I reckon isn't too bad. I like them cos there is only one strap & the squareness of them stops you rolling on them & keeps you a bit elevated above the dust & crap.

Ive busted so many its not funny. Getting used to kneeling without pads now. Only downside or upside..........knee hairs don't grow there no more LOL.

I heard "tileline" kneepads are meant to be pretty good.

I used to always be knee padless until about 4 years ago when I developed a bursitis on my knee cap (tennis elbow of the knee), most painful & uncomfortable, the only way I could get rid of it was by wearing knee pads, otherwise almost every day I was inflaming it. I haven't been able to do without them since & walking downstairs is a lot easier again. I don't think a knee pad could be asked to last forever, they cop a beating afterall. 12-18 months is good going I reckon.

was much the same as you didnt need them then one knee doubled in size with fluid had it drained but if i use cheap pads it blows up as it is now cant get any weight on it when kneeling

never been a knee pad man , squat like a chinaman, distributes the pressure over your whole body, I strongly reccomend this practice to everyone.otherwise you'll crush your knee's. concretors have no option. Knees are not bad after 33 yrs. at 50 yr. old.

I would like to wear knee pads at least some of the time but have never found a pair where the straps don't cut into the backs of my legs.
Notch the single strap on those irwins look pretty good. Do you have any problems with the strap cutting in to the back of your leg?
I have also had bursitis of the knee. No fun at all & hard to get rid of while your tiling.

I couldn't find any pads that didn't dig into the back of my knees, until I tried skateboard knee pads. The pair I have just slip on like a sock. I cop a hard time wearing them, but boy do my knees appreciate them. Deso I agree 30 years of tiling, squatting is the best, but there are times when it's easier to be on the knees. I don't know the brand as it has worn off from a year and half of use. I just went into a skateboard shop and tried a pair that felt comfortable.

Bushwoodboy, in my opinion this is the best feature of these kneepads. I find I hardly notice they are on with the single strap.
