Premixed Dunlop Resaflex issues Hi Guys.
I am a DIY'er and I was wondering if any of you have had experience with the premixed Dunlop Resaflex.
I didn't read the fine print on the bucket, and I have just laid a bathroom floor - including in the shower - over a concrete slab.
The buckets fine print says not to use this particular tile adhesive over concrete slabs (or waterproof membranes) due to "unsatisfactory" drying times.
Do any of you know how long "unsatisfactory" is? If I wait a week before grouting would that be sufficient time for the adhesive to set?
The tiles I used are porcelain 300 x 600, 10mm thick.
The bucket also says not to use it in fully submersed situations like swimming pools. I was just wondering if the shower floor would be considered too wet for this adhesive.
Thanks in advance for any info you may have.

Re: Premixed Dunlop Resaflex issues Hi Dragon,
I have bad news for you....really bad actually.
You can't use a premixed adhesive in this situation. Unsatisfactory drying times could mean forever, especially if there's a waterproofing membrane, as placing a porcelain tile onto the adhesive is similar to putting the lid back onto the bucket.
This adhesive is totally unsuitable for shower floors.

Re: Premixed Dunlop Resaflex issues I second Frank's assessment & would add that I'd never use this product under any circumstances. I'm guessing you bought it at Bunnings? It's the only place I've seen it on sale. Do NOT get advice for tiling at Bunnings, go to a reputable tiling supplier.

Re: Premixed Dunlop Resaflex issues Agree with Notch, Hey Dragon, can understand why you went the pre-mixed way, as you are DIY and require more tools to mix bagged adhesives. I never use premixed, always mix my own. I very rarely use mastik for walls either for that matter.
Dragon, we have a case here of lovely high grade tiles. The premix should still set, just give it time and see, otherwise you may need to ripp it up and start over.
If you do start over, I recommend going to the tile shop and getting a bag or two of ASA Conflex, or Davco Ultraflex. Depends on the contracts the tile shop near you has. You will need a strong drill and a mixing paddle, the bigger sized bunnings do have these paddles.

Re: Premixed Dunlop Resaflex issues Thanks everyone for your replies. You guys have just confirmed what I feared once I read the fine print.
Notch - you hit the nail on the head when you picked Bunnings.
Appreciate your advice.

Re: Premixed Dunlop Resaflex issues Dragon, the good news is you can probably still save your tiles, pry them up & scrape the glue off & you should probably be able to reuse them.... messy but worth the effort.
