Re: Module 8061C Certificate III - Wall and Floor Tiling - Tile Fixer Training PLEASE NOTE:
This is a curriculum product. Curriculum products provide a set of criteria or specifications that outline the knowledge and skills to be taught by training providers. Advice is also provided on implementation relating to, for example, mode of delivery, clustering of units, assessment and other strategies to enhance the training and learning process.
Curriculum products available on Skillsonline may not necessarily be aligned to the most recent Training Package, however these materials provide extremely useful information outlining relevant delivery criteria for each industry.
Module Purpose: This module is intended for learners engaged in training programs for the
purpose of achieving competencies at 1000 level in the General Construction
training package, through employment in construction trades and callings.
The module will provide further knowledge, skills, and practice in the
application of OH&S principles, use and maintenance of plant, equipment, and
hand & power tools, interpreting and conveying information in plans and
documents and safe handling of materials and construction wastes.
This module is the third in a series of three integrated sequenced modules, each
of which addresses in a continuum, knowledge and skills essential for
underpinning competent performance, in the core units of competency, at
Certificate Level I.
Each module in the series focuses on projects, as a means of applying knowledge
and skills at each level of development. Projects are graded in complexity for
the purpose of reinforcing prior learning.
For this reason, these modules are not suitable either for addressing individual
units of competency, or for delivery in a sequence other than that recommended.
This module (8061C Floor & Wall Tiling Project 3) provides the knowledge and
skills necessary for advancement to Certificate II in General Construction when
combined with
8061A - Floor & Wall Tiling Project 1
8061B - Floor & Wall Tiling Project 2
9500A - Workplace Interaction Skills
8000A - Site Specific OH&S Induction and Training
The completion of these five modules will meet the requirements of the
Certificate I in Construction (Floor & Wall Tiling ).

Re: Certificate III - Wall and Floor Tiling - Tile Fixer Training The above course has now been replaced byCPC31308 CERTIFICATE III IN WALL AND FLOOR TILING in all states except Victoria I think.
There are now many options for the type of training for both apprentices and workers who have been in the industry for a few years and don't have a "Formal" qualification.
Like all things there are people and organizations that know what they are doing, are helpful and give value for money, and those that are in it for the money.
For me I like to know that not only have I obtained a qualification that is worth something but that I was not ripped off in the process.
Having said that, if you don't have a qualification it is not as hard as you would think and worth the effort to get that bit of paper
