Hi, i'm new to the forums so g'day folks and go easy on me!
I've been thinking of moving to Australia for some time now and having spent quite a few hours looking at the different options of trades on the skills shortage list. I think I have my heart set on tiling. Now I've never done tiling in my life before so obviously have no experience.
I've had a good look at the process and was going to choose the following route.
I was looking at doing a 2 year course with Silver Trowel in Perth on a student visa, and if what i've read is right as long as I can get 900 hours of experience in doing tiling during the 2 years and obviously gain the AQF III Certicate then this would mean i wouldnt need to have the usual 4/5 years experience in order to gain a residency visa after?
I was wondering if anyone here has followed a similar route and whether it would plain sailing getting the residency visa after the 2 years course?
Any advice on whether ive got all my facts straight and you think this would work would be greatly appreciated!
Cheers guys.
Steve
